Rawesome Farm Buying Club Raided Again
Club Manager, Farmer and Weston Price Chapter Leader Arrested
Protest Rally Planned for 8:00am Thursday August 4

August 3, 2011—Los Angeles, California—Public Health Officials today descended once again on a buying club, that specializes in raw foods. Club organizer, James Stewart was arrested at his home, the locks to his personal residence were changed, his papers, money and computer seized. At the same time, farmer Sharon Palmer and Weston A. Price Foundation volunteer chapter leader Victoria Bloch Coulter were arrested. All three were charged with Section 182A-Conspiracy to Commit a Crime. Bond for James Stewart was set at $123,000. Bail for Bloch is recommended at $60,000. Bail for Palmer is recommended at $121,000.

All this, in a state where raw milk is perfectly legal to sell, and even available through retail stores. The issue seems to be the club’s use of a herdshare or boarding agreement for its dairy goats. Recently, the California Department of Food and Agriculture issued a cease-and-desist order to a farmer boarding dairy animals for the animal owners. Another farmer, Mike Hulme of Evergreen Acres goat farm in San Jose, received a cease-and-desist letter from the Santa Clara County District Attorney's office. Hulme and several people with ownership interest in goats kept at the farm are suing the state and county for interfering with their right to enter into a livestock boarding contract.

The state insists the farmers need dairy licenses to conduct such operations.

“It is apparent that there is an orchestrated effort on the part of public health officials to curb raw dairy access in California, and around the nation,” declares Pete Kennedy, Esq., President of the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund.

Arraignment is scheduled for tomorrow in Department 30, Los Angeles Superior Court, Fifth Floor, Criminal Justice Center, 210 W. Temple St., Los Angeles. Court opens at 8:30 a.m. The District attorney’s office says it is likely they are to go before the judge during the morning session.

A protest rally on the Los Angeles Courthouse Steps is planned for 8:00am tomorrow morning, when the three food rights activists are before the judge. Citizens concerned about access to healthy, locally produced foods are urged to attend.

Concerned citizens are asked to donate to the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund, an organization that works to protect and expand consumer access to whole, unprocessed foods of their choice, and to pave the way for unregulated, direct trade between farmer and consumer. There is definitely a tone of a quickening agenda. It puts petitioning and political lobbying in a whole new light knowing that the Canadian NHPPA and other groups were shut out of the Senate committee hearings. As the Canadian Government has proven that it refuses to listen and hear the people on issues like Bill C-36, we can expect similar results when Bill C-51 will be reintroduced, right?

Not listening to the people changes everything. The tone is less democratic and more militant now. The die has been cast, and it’s shaped to stamp out or freedoms. We must be ready to respond.

So back to Hunter Lewis. By encouraging American donations to flow over to the black hole of ANH's no chance "legal challenge", a legal battle that is unwinnable, they're blocking IAHF's efforts to get congressional oversight on FDA's Trilateral Cooperation Charter with Canada and Mexico via which Codex is being brought into North America.

Before I knew of Hunter Lewis existence inside ANH, I asked ANH to help me get congressional oversight on FDA's Trilateral Cooperation Charter. ANH promised they would. Then they reneged on that and now I know why.

Senator Jay Rockefeller (D-WV) is chair of Alliance for Health Reform This corrupt entity has systematically bought off several key members of the Oversight & Investigations Subcommittee by sending them on posh all expenses paid vacations to Turnberry Island Golf Resort in Aventura FL where they have fun in the sun in exchange for an hour or so of Pharma indoctrination which keeps them from holding oversight hearings on things the Rockefellers don't want them held on, such as the FDA's Trilateral Cooperation Charter.

When I got Ron Paul to take a letter I'd written about the need for Congressional oversight on FDA's Trilateral Cooperation Charter with Canada and Mexico and put it on his letterhead as a "Dear Colleague" letter, I hand carried it all over Capital Hill and got 7 signatures calling for Oversight, but NO ONE from the Oversight & Investigations Subcommittee would sign because as I later found out, they'd all been bought off by Rockefeller.

What I gather from your VERY helpful suggestions is that we need to contact our neighbours and alert them to the implications of what is to unfold. I would certainly prefer that we are prepared so that there can be calm and any protest can accomplished through phone and email so that folks don't need to be out in the streets being brutalized by the military and/or police like law-abiding citizens were wehn the the G20 was here in Toronto much to my disgust.

They only will use disorder to push their agenda more, so we also need to warn folks against taking to the streets per se, but use our numbers to tell our politicians we are not impressed and call them to account. I wondered if you might suggest what approach we might use here in Canada to prepare for what transpires in your country.

Awakening people in Canada is even harder than in the US due to such a high percentage of the population working for the government, and because you all get taxed so much it doesn't leave you with much time to try to understand agendas like the one I'm talking about. I've been fighting for health freedom in Canada since 1997 when I was the first to awaken people there to the threat posed by Codex, and for the past 8 years I've lived in the border town of Point Roberts WA just outside Vancouver BC, so I was very much a part of your (unsuccessful) effort to kill bill C-51. The closest health food store to me is a Canadian store in Tsawwassen BC which borders Point Roberts. By February, 40% of their products will be removed from the shelves for not having Natural Product Numbers which manufacturers can't afford. C-51 enabled Health Canada to hire an army of new inspectors who will be used to attack health food stores and dietary supplement manufacturers.

It seems we here in Canada are not at the same tipping point as you, so if there is something I should know to be fully aware of the situation here that you might know about, I would appreciate knowing about it. Janette- I hope all he information provided above helps. People up there should know that the FDA has run a scam behind all of our backs along with their counterparts in Health Canada and the Mexican equivalent called the FDA Trilateral Cooperation Charter (Through this they have created a framework for one harmonized set of food and drug regs between Canada, the US and Mexico as if the CFR's planned North American Union Dictatorship were already in place. They've done this in order to make an end run around the will of the American people as expressed via passage of the Dietary Supplement Health and Education Act of 1994 which they've long hated and wanted to eclipse. This is how they are bringing Codex dictates into North America. Another way is via harmonization language in C-51, and also in the US Food Safety Bill which harmonizes both Canada and the US to the EU which has the most draconian dietary supplement regulations in the world and which is driving things at Codex.

I forced FDA to give me their internal documents re this SCAM by going through the Freedom of Information Act. They didn't want to give me any documents, and I had to threaten to sue them because they dragged their feet for 3 years after I had some high level conference calls with them in which I could tell my probe made them very nervous! They were in "damage control" mode the whole time they spoke with me. C-51 never should have been passed into law. Many of you tried hard to stop it, but your government is far too corrupt just as ours also is as seen via passage of the equally bad Food Safety Bill. My weakness

I complain about the pain but it’s the good pain like the kind you get after finishing boot camp with your personal trainer and your muscles are all sore and you are tired and wiped out. It’s the pain and problems you brag about, you know? Some folks don’t take the time to get that.

Life’s got problems and we always try to avoid and prevent the pain. You know I have a weakness where I analyze something to its smallest minute details. When I do have a problem that I need to tear apart, I will do anything to take it apart and solve it. I need people around me who understand that. People who are honest and won’t BS me when I’m trying to solve problems. Life is much better with someone who’s developed compassion and empathy, lived through the same problems I have faced, and said to themselves “I’m going to crack that egg,” or, “boy, do I know how that feels! That really bites!” and found solutions to them.

Consumer Product "Safety" Act Bill C-36 will now receive Royal assent

It is with regret that I inform you that Bill C-36 was passed in the Senate chamber yesterday evening. Three standing votes were held on the matter, and each time the Conservative majority outnumbered us and won those votes. The Bill will now receive Royal assent, at which point it will become law.

Many of you will wonder what you can do next. My advice is that, come the next election, you do your best to remind fellow voters how the Conservatives abused their numbers in the Senate to pass flawed legislation. Only then will this Conservative government realize that the Senate’s role is to ensure that our laws and institutions serve all Canadian citizens, not just the interests of their political party.

STOP BILL C-36

I was appalled by the Jejune ABHORRENT behaviour of the Conservative senators voting down very reasonable amendments to Bill C-36, as I watched in horror on live web-cast from December 7, 2010 until today. We must stop Bill C-36. It's poorly drafted, poorly worded, increases secrecy, decreases due process and court supervision. It has to go. Refer to my previous emails on this subject, sent to you last week.This is my Canada. I'm not going to let some foreign government dictate how I run it. REMOVE ALL REFERENCE TO FOREIGN GOVERNMENTS IN BILL C-36.
You, as a trustee to the power of Canadian Citizens as a nation, do not have a mandate from your principles (us citizens) to eliminate the rule of law and bring in a totalitarian police state under a regime of secret guns-drawn raids on homes and businesses. The senate is suppose to be a chamber of sober second thought. And yet, you vote against these amendments proposed by Senator Day and Senator Banks like you are drunk with power. That is totally unacceptable. You would not even consider correcting GRAMMATICAL ERRORS? WHAT ON EARTH IS THAT ABOUT?
Christmas can wait. Due process can't. Due process is much more important than political expediency. Don't steal my Canada! I demand you support the Liberal amendments and restore the rule of law in your effort to in principle support consumer safety.
Preferably I want this legislation to die on the order paper. It is completely unnecessary as our current hazardous products act is doing just fine, thank you very much.
We demand to be heard. Let us speak on this bill.

TODAY [DEC 9] AGREE WITH SENATOR DAY & SENATOR CORDY.

We all know that Bill C-36 should stop, however Senator Day may have bought us some valuable time with his motion at Tuesday’s third reading.

He is requesting a six month delay, for the Minister to consider possible amendments which were voted down in Senate committee. This may not be what we would have hoped, but it could well be the best possible manoeuvre to delay things at this point of Senate’s procedure.

For us, it would represent six months to continue our education work, the

time we need to convince all Senators that our concerns about the constitution should matter to them. Senate knows that this bill hasn’t received due process; Senator Cordy has said on the record that it is unreasonable to hear three government panels and only one from the people.

We need to support this 11th hour initiative from Senator Day to slow the Government’s rush to pass this Bill.

They heard him before, and they need to hear him again. Otherwise they only hear Health Canada’s voice, not ours. Shawn Buckley shares our deep concern for freedom, protecting our rights, and our Canada. He is a catalyst that ignites our passion and gives so many of us clear, guiding vision.

The Senate Committee agreed and re-scheduled their meeting to accommodate Mr. Buckley’s legal work last time. And by extension they re-scheduled for us.

It is imperative that he be allowed to give his testimony before this Committee, again.

We all know that he is uniquely qualified and his perspective is essential and irreplaceable. We have all counted on his expertise to draft a clear analysis of C-36, and at every previous incarnation.

EXACTLY ONE YEAR LATER.

In a five-minute-to-midnight national campaign last year, we asked to have Shawn Buckley to the Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs over this same piece of legislation November 25 2009. Only after we found out Shawn was not accepted as a witness, we launched a campaign to change that decision. Due to our collective efforts was he able to make the presentation which tipped the balance and effectively stopped bill.

There is no alternative being offered. No one is speaking to address the many blatant violations of the Canada’s Constitution. There are number of brilliant candidates that oppose C-36, who should in fact be given access to the Senate. If Senate heard from them all, this bill would more than likely cease to exist. Which is in fact, our collective goal. To STOP Bill C-36. Permanently.

TIMING IS EVERYTHING.

WE HAVE TO ASK SENATE COMMITTEE TO SCHEDULE TIME TO HEAR SHAWN BUCKLEY WHEN IT’S MUTUTALLY ACCEPTABLE.

Shawn is crossing the country from coast to coast with the jam-packed Freedom in Crisis tour until December 8th. In the meantime the unseemly rush to rubber stamp this bill is ploughing ahead. Senate must be told to stop and think, to take time to hear the people, to honour democracy. Sober reflection is what the Senate is for. It’s their job. The only answer is a mutually acceptable date to hear the people’s voice. Senate must halt the rush and hear all the evidence. After December 8th.

ASKING TO SCHEDULE AN HONEST DEBATE

WE’RE NOT ALL CONSTITUTIONAL EXPERTS WHO SPECIALIZE IN HEALTH FREEDOM, BUT WE NEED OUR RIGHTS PROTECTED AND WE KNOW WE HAVE A VOICE, THAT IS WHY SHAWN IS OUR CHOSEN REPRESENTATIVE.

All we have to do is make our voice heard: we want Shawn to have the opportunity to once again, tell the Senate why it’s imperative to STOP Bill C-36. Permanently.

The message from Shawn will be more urgent and appeal to the Senates obligation to Canadians, our constitutional and legal rights and freedoms.

This is important. Consider the time you take, the time you have for freedom.

A debate that includes legitimate arguments as to why Bill C-36 should be killed completely.

I realise that Health Canada has issued assurances that C-36 will not represent an assault on my rights as a Canadian, but a detailed examination of the issues demonstrates otherwise. Shawn Buckley gave evidence to the Standing Senate Committee on Social Affairs with regard to C-6. I am writing to urge you to support inviting him to represent my voice at the committee stage of C-36.

As most of you know, Mr. Buckley is a uniquely qualified individual who truly speaks for the interest of Canadians. He is not only a Constitutional lawyer but also the author of the Canadian Charter of Health Freedom, which is a proposed legislation that nearly 55,000 Canadians have signed a petition supporting, with hundreds more signing on every single week.

I believe that to proceed with final analysis of Bill C-36 without hearing from Mr. Buckley would be a grave omission. An act that would wilfully disregard the voice of the Canadian public.

The Senate of Canada needs to hear from its people and through their representatives, not just from government bureaucrats.

I urge you to hear from Mr. Buckley at the committee stage of Bill C-36.

TWO AND A HALF YEARS OF COMMUNICATION

On May 14 2008, Shawn Buckley prepared and released a Discussion Paper on Bill C-52 at the request of the NHPPA out of a concern that the Bill represented an unprecedented encroachment on freedoms currently enjoyed by Canadians.

On Feb 18 2009 the NHPPA Discussion Paper on Bill C-6 was released and then on June 18 2010 the current Bill C-36 Discussion Paper gave the country yet another thorough analysis, and reminder, of the dangers in Health Canada’s unnecessary bill.

Health Canada continues to persuade our elected officials that Bill C-36 is not unconstitutional, is not illegal and does not assault our rights and freedoms. Health Canada assures parliament that the bill is necessary and has been checked for legality and constitutionality.

It’s the same dangerous bill, with every amendment, with every concession.

Even Senators voiced deep concerns over this piece of legislation.

WHAT ARE THE STEPS AFTER COMMITTEE?

This committee is the step before a report is created and offered to the entire Senate.

After that a 3rd reading debates followed by 3rd reading and then Bill C-36 will be law.

If you have been following Bill C-36 you’ll know that it has moved through the House of Commons virtually, unimpeded… without thoughtful consideration. Is this because MPs ‘have seen this bill before’ and believe it no longer needs to be scrutinized.

We are curious with the number of groups across the country loudly and clearly giving legitimate evidence to Members of Parliament or Senators if they even sincerely considered our communications. Have they only read the “Myth vs Reality” documents?

Is this what we can continue to expect from our government?

Voices of hundreds of thousands of Canadians, independent constitutional and legal experts, and tax paying business owners being ignored?

The stakes are higher than ever this time. C-6 was amended, but C-36 must be stopped. Stopped completely, once and for all. The rule of law is at stake, and with it the foundation of everything our government is tasked to protect. The proponents of this Bill may use emotive language and fear-mongering to persuade the gullible that their safety is at stake; but we should not permit our Senators to take the easy way out. The people are demanding an end to the pretence.

URGENT I was in Ottawa yesterday and today meeting with members of the Senate and House of Commons, trying to respectfully point out how out of control our Peoples' Public Servants are by showing them supporting evidence.

On almost a daily basis, new evidence keeps surfacing on how our Peoples' Public Servants attempt to conspire to violate the civil and property rights of sovereign individual Canadians. Just look at two of this week's examples. Why would any citizen trust any police or regulatory Public Official knowing that other citizens are being attacked in these ways.

The 14 Characteristics of a Fascist/Socialistic Police State are quite clearly identified in an article written on November 4, 2004 by Lawrence Britt [See Exhibit 1]. The definition of fascism is quite clear [See Exhibit 2]. The tyranny of the socialistic left whether called Communism, Liberalism, Socialism, etc is also quite clear as indicated in an article written in The Coastal Post, October, 1995 [See Exhibit 3].

[1] Mr. Adam Nobody was gang attacked by over 10 armed and trained Police during the GTA G-20 Black Day in June and Mr. Bill Blair, Chief of Police mislead the media and public several times trying to blame the victim for what happened to him. [See Exhibits 4].

[2] A Major Mark Tijssen is being harassed over butchering his own livestock [See Exhibits 5].

I have been asking you to Judge whether our Province of Ontario and Canada in general has become a Fascist/Socialistic Police State?

In order to continue generating sufficient Citizens' E-Protests to stop the Totalitarian Bill C-36 in the Canadian Senate today, it is important that you circulate this as widely as possible within your social networks. Please review our newest critic of Bill C-36 and our twelve questions to ask your MP and Senator [See Exhibits 7 & 9] and then follow the following steps to generate as many e-Protest action letters as possible. Let the People speak clearly to all Senators and Members of Parliament. With all of your help we were able to stop Bill C-6 in the Senate last November and December and we can do the same again. We generated over 700,000 individual e-mails in 2009 to convince the Senate to not pass Bill C-6 and we need to do the same again immediately. Step 2:

While visiting these websites, you need to send Our Tea Party of Canada's various Peoples' E-Mandate e-protests to all 400 plus Canadian MP's and Senators. It is time that all of our Ottawa Federal Employees elected and appointed know that the "Gravy Train in Ottawa" is going to come to an end as a result of our Tea Party GIA Freedom BeeHive grassroots revolution. This can be done by going online and by downloading the STOP BILL C-36 E-Mandate protest letter and sending your letter by fax, mail and/or by personal delivery by hand to your local MP's office.

Step 3:

After forwarding your protest letter, please print it out and immediately call your local MP for a meeting in their riding. Ask your MP to answer the questions about Bill C-36 and confirm why they did not oppose Bill C-36 at the 3rd Reading on October 29th. MP's usually follow the orders of their caucus whip and party leaders instead of independently voting along with their constituents clearly expressed wishes. It seems that we do not have any true Constitutional Democratic representation in each riding. Please ensure that all replies are sent to our organizations for posting in order to keep our ongoing Democratic Report Card for each MP and Senator up to date.

Step 4:

An important detail being left out of mainstream media reports about the new airport body scanning devices is that former Department of Homeland Security Chief, Michael Chertoff is personally profiting from them. Last year, his former office, the Department of Homeland Security awarded a US$160 million contract to Rapiscan, a manufacturer of these new devices and one of his main clients at The Chertoff Group, the security consultancy firm of which he is Chairman. Chertoff has been stumping for these devices on any news program that will have him.

Besides the fact that Chertoff is illegally advertising his product during news programs while pretending to be a public servant, there is a legitimate debate about the medical safety of these new body scanning devices: There is no dose of back-scatter ionizing radiation that has ever been proven to be safe.

The other stall...

Traveling down the interstate and needing to use the restroom,
I stopped at a rest area and headed to the restroom.

I was barely sitting down when I heard a voice from the other stall saying:
"Hi, how are you?"

I'm not the type to start a conversation in the restroom and I don't know what got into me,

But I answered, somewhat embarrassed,
"Doin' just fine!"

And the other person says:
"So what are you up to?"

What kind of question is that? At that point, I'm thinking this is too bizarre so I say:
"Uhhh, I'm like you, just traveling!"??

At this point I am just trying to get out as fast as I can when I hear another question.
"Can I come over?"

Ok, this question is just too weird for me but I figured I could just be polite and end the conversation. I tell them

"No..I'm a little busy right now!!!"

Then I hear the person say nervously...

"Listen, I'll have to call you back. There's an idiot in the other stall who keeps answering all my questions

Cell phones, don't you just love them!

The B.C. government has filed legal action against the makers of the Evra contraception
patch for women to recover past and future health care costs.

The lawsuit claims Johnson & Johnson Inc. and other defendants "aggressively marketed
the contraceptive without disclosing the safety hazards associated with Evra."

The government claims users of Evra "did not receive any warnings about the increased
risk of developing blood clots, pulmonary emboli, strokes, heart attacks or deep vein
thrombosis associated with Evra ..."

The plaintiff claims Evra, the first skin patch approved for birth control by Health Canada
in 2002, contains the same amount of estrogen as most oral contraceptives but the
hormones from the transdermal patch go directly into the bloodstream while oral contraceptives are digested first, reducing the amount of estrogen that eventually enters the blood.

Ten years ago, doctors reviewing Evra clinical trials warned that blood clots could be a
problem if the patch was approved, the lawsuit claims.

The government claims that the defendants were negligent in failing to provide warnings
of the potential hazards of using Evra on package labels, failing to provide Health Canada
with complete and accurate information about the risks of Evra as it became available,
and failing to conduct any long-term studies of the risks of continued use of Evra.

The lawsuit also names as defendants McNeil Pharmaceutical Inc. and Janssen-Ortho
Inc.

Almost three years ago, a class-action lawsuit was filed by representative plaintiff
Jennifer Ansems against the defendants.

None of the allegations contained in the government's lawsuit or the class action have
been proven in court.

The province is seeking to recover past and future health care costs under the Health
Care Costs Recovery Act, which took effect April 1, 2009. Since then, the B.C.
government has recovered more than $3 million in health care costs.

I have not read it as of yet... but there it is....

We will need to move forward quickly and determine two things:
First of all how is the bill "re-tooled" from the original Bill? What changes were made to it?

Second, we need to determine what the possibility is of passing this thing before the summer recess. If we

have the summer recess that will be a good time for us to rally troops and spread the word to be ready to fight in the early fall. However, if they try to ram it through, and succeed (It was unanimously passed by the SAME IDIOTS the first time) we will lose the battle, because the Senate is Conservative now... last time, it was Liberal... Harpie changed all the committees and appointed SIX new Senators to kiss his butt in gratitude, so no minority there!
It is IMPERATIVE that we beat this thing in the Commons!

They do this ad posting on craigslist near the end of the month every month. It is on call and there are nobody that works for them longer than a couple days because they never get paid.

I'm an experienced professional class 1 driver and I was looking for work when I saw this company's job posting on Craiglist. I have excellent references and do excellent work. As we all know transport companies are high risk for committing non-payment for services owed especially small companies like affordable movers. When you try going to his website http://affordablemoversbc.com/aboutus.html there is no legal business address where they can take full legal liability for any business you do for them as either an employee or customer. On the initial phone call I asked to meet at their home office. He said he doesn't want to give out his home office address or office address, and gave some excuse as to why. When he refused to provide his legal business address where we could meet for an interview I asked to see two pieces of government issued ID. He refused to do that and questioned if he will get to see mine and I assured him he would see mine during the application process.

If you try and fill out a complaint with the BC Employment Standards Branch or federal labour board because you did not get paid or had difficulty with your pay you will have difficulty because this company is doing business with you anonymously and you don't have all their information to serve them the complaint.

On their business Card there is no address mentioned either. This is truly the definition of a fly-by-night company and I would recommend you avoid them and go with a reputable company such as Bekins Moving which are recommended by one of my friends who is the president of the Better Business Bureau.

We knew it would happen, but here is the first inkling of an application, and it will apply to all member nations of the World Trade Organization.... remember, that benign little social club

that, under cover of making nice with each other, forces nations "to govern their sovereignty according to the wishes of the group"... and if they don't, will issue monetary sanctions amounting to millions of dollars per DAY against any economic sector it chooses! Look under "Sovereignty" at www.wto.org to see that trade groups are enforceable CONTRACTS....

You will, if you follow the trail of trade groups, find out that our nation, along with many others, is now so entangled with other nations that the elite have made it NECESSARY to have an overarching body to manage it all.

World Health Organization Moving Ahead on Billions in Internet and Other Taxes

The World Health Organization is moving full speed ahead with a controversial plan to impose billions of dollars in global consumer taxes on such things as Internet activity and everyday financial transactions like paying bills online — while its spending soars and its own financial house is in disarray.

The World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations' public health arm, is moving full speed ahead with a controversial plan to impose global consumer taxes on such things as Internet activity and everyday financial transactions like paying bills online — while its spending soars and its own financial house is in disarray.

The aim of its taxing plans is to raise "tens of billions" of dollars for WHO that would be used to radically reorganize the research, development, production and distribution of medicines around the world, with greater emphasis on drugs for communicable diseases in poor countries.

The irony is that the WHO push to take a huge bite out of global consumers comes as the organization is having a management crisis of its own, juggling finances, failing to use its current resources efficiently, or keep its costs under control — and it doesn't expect to show positive results in managing those challenges until a year from now, at the earliest.

Fox News initially reported last January on the "suite of proposals" for "new and innovative sources of funding," prepared by a 25-member panel of medical experts, academics and health care bureaucrats, when it was presented of a meeting of WHO's 34-member Executive Board in Geneva.

Now the proposals are headed for the four-day annual meeting of the 193-member World Health Assembly, WHO's chief legislative organ, which begins in Geneva on May 17.

The Health Assembly, a medical version of the United Nations General Assembly, will be invited to "take note" of the experts' report. It will then head back with that passive endorsement to another Executive Board meeting, which begins May 22, for further action. It is the Executive Board that will "give effect" to the Assembly's decisions.

What it all means is that a major lobbying effort could soon be underway to convince rich governments in particular to begin taxing citizens or industries to finance a drastic restructuring of medical research and development on behalf of poorer ones.

The scheme would leave WHO in the middle, helping to manage a "global health research and innovation coordination and funding mechanism," as the experts' report calls it.

In effect, the plan amounts to a pharmaceutical version of the U.N.-sponsored climate-change deal that failed to win global approval at Copenhagen last December. If implemented as the experts suggest, it could easily involve the same kind of wealth transfers as the failed Copenhagen summit, which will send $30 billion a year to poor nations, starting this year.

The WHO strategy involves a wide variety of actions to transfer "pharmaceutical-related technology," and its production, along with intellectual property rights, to developing countries, according to a condensed "global strategy and plan of action" also being presented to the World Health Assembly.

Regional "networks for innovation" would be cultivated across the developing world, and some regions, such as Africa, would be encouraged to develop technology to exploit "traditional medicines."

According to the condensed plan of action being presented to the Assembly, a number of those initiatives are already well under way.

The rationale for the drastic restructuring of medical R and D, as outlined in the group of experts' report, is the skewed nature of medical research in the developed world, which concentrates largely on non-communicable diseases, notably cancer, and scants research on malaria, tuberculosis and other communicable scourges of poor countries. It cites a 1986 study that claimed that only 5 percent of global health research and development was applied to the health problems of developing countries.

(In dissecting contemporary medical R and D, however, the expert report glosses over the historical fact that many drugs for fighting communicable diseases in developing countries are already discovered; the issue in many cases is the abysmal living and hygienic conditions that make them easily transmitted killers.)

What truly concerns the experts, however, is how to get the wealth transfers that will make the R and D transfers possible — on a permanent basis. The panel offers up a specific number of possibilities.

Chief among them:
• a "digital" or "bit" tax on Internet activity, which could raise "tens of billions of U.S. dollars";
• a 10 percent tax on international arms deals, "worth about $5 billion per annum";
• a financial transaction tax, citing a Brazilian levy that was raising some $20 billion per year until it was canceled (for unspecified reasons);
• an airline tax that already exists in 13 countries and has raised some $1 billion.

Almost casually, the panel's report notes that the fundraising effort would involve global changes in legal structures — and policing. As the report puts it: "Introducing a new tax or expanding an existing tax may require legal changes, nationally and internationally and ongoing regulation to ensure compliance."

As a backup, the panel offers some less costly, voluntary alternatives, including "solidarity contributions" via mobile telephone usage, or set-asides on income taxes.

Yet another alternative: new health care contributions from countries such as China, India or Venezuela, or higher contributions from rich countries — neither idea looking likely in the current climate of international financial crisis. In the report's words: "channeling these resources in this way can only be achieved if there is political will to do so and a convincing case is made."

As follow-up, the experts suggest that WHO promote each and every suggested approach for new financing, along with "regulatory harmonization and integration" in the developing world, "research and development platforms in the developing world," and new "product development partnerships" to kick-start the global medicines program.

Just as big an issue for WHO, however, may be whether it can adequately manage the money it is already getting — or trying to get — for its current planned needs.

Other budget documents intended for the World Health Assembly, and obtained by Fox News, paint a picture of an organization where:

• spiraling financial demands are beginning to outstrip the ability of member-nations to pay;
• outsized headquarters budgets, in contrast to the regional and country networks where WHO's public health work is largely done, are rising even faster than the overall budget; and
• efforts to control onerous staff costs are just getting underway.

Those challenges are laid out in WHO's proposed biennial budget for 2010-2011, which calls for a combination of mandatory and voluntary contributions from the world's nations — meaning, overwhelmingly, the three dozen richest ones — of $5.4 billion — a whopping 27 percent increase over the same initial draft figure for 2008-2009.

But that increase, large as it is, will likely be far less than WHO needs before the latest biennium ends. In 2008-2009, the initial $4.23 billion draft budget was "revised" to a final $4.95 billion during the two-year period, a 17 percent increase.

Using the same inflationary measure, WHO's spending could well climb to $6.3 billion before the end of 2011.

One of the biggest jumps would come in the spending centered on WHO's headquarters in pricey Geneva — a 44 percent climb in its share of program budgets, from $1.18 billion to $1.7 billion, even before any future "revisions."

WHO planners point to the shrinking value of the U.S. dollar, its budgeted currency, against the Swiss franc as a major factor, which they say has increased costs by 15 percent. But other factors include more meetings for WHO's governing bodies and salary provisions for the top officers of the WHO Secretariat.

According to documents presented to the program, budget and administration committee of WHO's Executive Board, headquarters costs for the organization have remained proportionately steady for years at almost 38 percent of WHO's spending, however much that spending has grown. The ratio is striking, since WHO devotes most of its efforts to improving health care conditions in the developing world.

The organization's stated goal is to spend only 30 percent of its program funding in Geneva, but the same planners think it is "unrealistic" to think WHO will reach that objective, even by 2013.

In foggy bureaucratic language, they declare that "a change that is too swift and radical will be disruptive to the entire function of the Organization or fail because of an insurmountable accumulation of practical problems of execution."

Translation: the WHO bureaucracy won't easily cooperate.

In a bid to get the head-to-tail ratio under better control, WHO's top managers have set ceilings for headquarters hiring, but these only went into effect this year. The hiring limits will not cut the Geneva head-count but limit its further growth — "an acknowledgement," the document says, "that staff numbers are the main driver of WHO's expenditures."

That combination of WHO's sharp hikes in costs and a grim economic climate have led to another major management problem: "continued disparities between the approved budgets and the available resources."

In other words, WHO's member states and donors are not paying up as fast as the organization is spending the money across its many and varied priorities, leading to budgetary juggling and behind the scenes efforts to get major donor countries to ante up future contributions in advance, and cough up more voluntary funds in the future.

In its planning committee documents, the WHO bureaucracy promises to get a better grip on its finances in the near future.

Among the cost management efforts will be higher levies on voluntary donations to cover WHO staff costs — higher administrative fees, in short — along with more voluntary and "fully flexible" donations that can be used at the management's discretion, rather than being earmarked for specific programs.

It will be another year, however, before WHO's overseers will be able to see if its management juggling will bear adequate fruit.

All in all, that is not a confidence-building credential for an organization that is simultaneously trying to reorganize the world's medical research, development, production and distribution system — and make the world's consumers and taxpayers pick up most of the multibillion-dollar tab.

Health freedom alert: Congressman Waxman sneaks anti-vitamin amendment into Wall Street reform bill

(NaturalNews) Of all the sneaky tactics practiced in Washington D.C., this recent action by Congressman Henry Waxman (D-CA) is one of the most insidious: While no one was looking, he injected amendment language into the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act of 2009 (H.R. 4173) that would expand the powers of the FTC (not the FDA, but the FTC) to terrorize nutritional supplement companies by greatly expanding the power of the FTC to make its own laws that target dietary supplement companies.

This is a little-known secret about the FTC and the nutritional supplements business: The FTC routinely targets nutritional supplement companies that are merely telling the truth about their products. Some companies are threatened by merely linking to published scientific studies about their products.

The FTC does much the same thing. They target a particular company that's having success in the natural products marketplace, then they accuse that company of "inferring" that their products have some health benefit. From there, the FTC demands that the company engage in paying a massive fine to the FTC, which the FTC calls "consumer redress" even though none of the money actually goes to the consumers.

If you try to fight the FTC, they haul you into their own special "FTC courts" which are not public courts where you have the benefit of a jury, but rather they are courts where the judges are actually FTC employees and you have no rights. You are essentially guilty until proven innocent, and virtually no one has been found innocent by the FTC.

If the King says you're guilty, then you're guilty

The FTC also forces you to sign a "consent decree" which involves you admitting to committing crimes that you have actually never committed. These crimes include the "criminal misrepresentation of a product" by, for example, explaining that walnuts help support healthy cholesterol levels or that cherries ease symptoms of inflammation.

Using these methods, the FTC has extorted tens of millions of dollars out of nutritional supplement companies. More importantly, it has terrorized the industry and put several companies out of business, denying the American public access to products that could improve their health and prevent disease.

Waxman wants the FTC to have even more power over your vitamins

Now Congressman Henry Waxman wants to give the FTC even more powers by allowing the FTC to write its own laws without Congressional approval. This would allow a rogue agency to simply invent any new law it wants, such as requiring nutritional supplement companies to spend hundreds of millions of dollars "proving" the efficacy of a vitamin before they can sell it.

Stop Nuking the Cancers

Medically speaking oncologists use weapons of mass cellular destruction to treat cancer. They use tests and treatments that cause cancer to treat cancer. Until now their tools include surgically removing tumours, attacking them with chemotherapy drugs or blasting them with radiation. Today I am launching our new Winning Cancer site, which examines aspects of cancer and its treatment that contemporary oncology overlooks. The medical industrial complex is now offering their own new approach to treating cancer by directing the body's natural defence mechanisms against the disease. This of course makes sense but using a vaccine is not exactly the best way of stimulating the immune system to do its normal job. Billed as a first-of-a-kind prostate cancer treatment that uses the body's immune system to fight the disease, the vaccine received federal approval in April of 2010, offering an alternative to more taxing treatments like chemotherapy.

It's called a "vaccine" even though it treats disease rather than prevents it. The shot trains the immune system to fight tumors. "The big news here is that this is the first immunotherapy to win approval, and I suspect within five to ten years immunotherapies will be a big part of cancer therapy in general," said Dr. Phil Kantoff, an oncologist at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute who helped run the studies of Provenge.

Allopathic doctors have been trying to develop such a therapy for decades but we already have a host of natural agents that do exactly what Provenge is trying to do. If one wants to increase the strength and power of one’s immune system the last thing one wants to do is follow the pharmaceutical paradigm for it uses chemicals that increase the toxicity of the body while simultaneously driving down one’s nutritional status.

The basic protocol of Natural Allopathic Medicine to safely and effectively increase the function of the immune system is:

Magnesium chloride, sodium bicarbonate and iodine which represent a holy trinity for the medical world offering us unbeatable healing firepower to turn medical conditions around. Medicine does not get any stronger and that is why these substances are commonly used in emergency rooms and intensive care wards. Healthy sun exposure (D3), good water, selenium (because of the mercury toxicities association with cancer), Alpha Lipoic Acid, whole food Vitamin C, a good natural chelator and probiotic, super foods like spirulina (very high in everything but especially B vitamins, betacarotenes, amino acids, GLA) and wheatgrass juice, pure clays, natural/regular colonics, and assorted body and energy work all make perfectly good medical sense as does raw food or juice fasting if you are really serious and capable of making such life changing decisions. Even medical marijuana [1] or what is known as hemp oil belongs high on a cancer patient’s wish list for pain and stress release as well as another highly effective and safe primary angle of attack on cancer cells themselves.

Dendreon said the drug will cost $93,000 per patient. Company studies showed that taking Provenge added only four months to the lives of men with advanced prostate cancer. The above protocol, which does offer some hope for a permanent reversal of cancer, would cost about 2,000 dollars for six months of treatment.

Mainstream medicine likes to point out that people with cancer can lose their only chance of beating the disease by skipping conventional treatment or by mixing in other therapies. “Even harmless-sounding vitamins and "natural" supplements can interfere with cancer medicines or affect hormones that help cancer grow,” they like to say, deliberately casting shadows and planting seeds of doubt. But 60 percent of cancer patients try unconventional remedies and about 40 percent take vitamins or dietary supplements. The key is taking the right ones at the right dosages. One great point of error is that natural concentrated nutritional agents (which everything in the above list are) demand that we take the dosages up to very high levels, which is the opposite of allopathic medicine, which uses poisons at low dosages.

We are seeing a dramatic rise in propaganda aimed at
defending orthodox cancer treatments so that means everything
other than chemo, radiation and surgery will be hammered and
good medical practice and cancer treatments suffer from this.

Getting nutrients from pills (unless in tablet form from a food/medicine like spirulina) is different than getting them from a balanced diet but practitioners of nutritional and orthomolecular medicine know that it is impossible today to concentrate enough nutritional fire power from even the best foods alone. That’s why transdermal magnesium or bicarbonate can be so helpful for these approaches help us concentrate nutritional fire power. This limitation is true even with super foods like spirulina, which cannot hope to cover every base. Spirulina cannot provide concentrated dosages of vitamin C, ALA, magnesium, iodine or selenium though it is one of the highest magnesium content foods in existence. That aside, spirulina and other super foods can provide just about everything else. Fasting with spirulina and juices is a heavenly healing experience and is one medicine/food I never do without.

Dr. Mitchell Gaynor, a cancer specialist at the Weill-Cornell Medical Center in New York includes nutrition testing and counselling, meditation and relaxation techniques in his treatment. He says, "You do have people who will say 'chemotherapy is just poison.' Cancer takes decades to develop, so you're not going to be able to think that all of a sudden you're going to change your diet or do meditation (and cure it). You need to treat it medically. You can still do things to make your diet better. You can still do meditation to reduce your stress." Gaynor disagrees that chemo is ‘just’ a poison and this is his idea of necessary medical treatment for cancer.

Dr. Gaynor is correct in saying you need to treat cancer medically in a very concentrated way but he is totally mistaken that using harsh chemical poisons is the way to go. Natural Allopathic Medicine steals the best that allopathic medicine has to offer but delivers the goods in safe natural forms. Sodium bicarbonate and magnesium chloride are two very strong allopathic medicines that cannot be assaulted by the medical press or anyone else because they save lives all the time.

These substances are concentrated nutritional medicinals and this makes many oncologists uncomfortable because they understand so little about nutrition preferring to poison people then get them well. I like to conceptualize my protocol as Natural Chemotherapy or as Natural Emergency Medicine because they offer the kind of firepower you want when dealing with life threatening diseases.

Not infrequently, it can exemplify what Harvard math professor Tom Lehrer satirized as where "the important thing is to understand what you're doing, rather than to get the right answer." Just because a published study suggests something does not make it true.

I never liked math very much, and I still don't. But I am indebted to dedicated math teachers who taught me in spite of myself. Decades ago, one such teacher gave me wise advice that spans all disciplines: "Look at your answer. Does your answer make sense?"

So when research suggests that the vitamin folic acid somehow causes lung or colon cancer, it is time to hit the books. It may even occasionally be necessary to hit them right out of the way, and use common sense instead.

Folate, once known as vitamin B-9, is named after the dark green leafy vegetables it was first extracted from. "Folium" is Latin for leaf. Leaves and greens are high in folate. Herbivorous animals get plenty of folate because they eat plenty of foliage. Carnivorous animals also get plenty of folate, because they consume herbivorous animals. In the wild, this means the entire animal, including its abdominal organs full of the prey's last meal of partially digested vegetation. Indeed, the viscera are typically the first thing a predator eats.

If folate caused cancer, the whole animal kingdom would have a lot of it. And while wild animals have their own problems, cancer is rarely one of them.

If you look at the research suggesting a human cancer connection (1,2), it does not say that folate in food causes cancer. The research only points to folic acid, as specifically as found in supplements, as the bogey man.

But there is virtually no difference whatsoever between the two forms of this nutrient. Folate and folic acid are different only in whether the carboxylic acid groups have dissociated or not. Folic acid's molecular formula is C19, H19, N7, O6. Folate is C19, H18, N7, O6. The difference? Folate has one less hydrogen cation (H+). A hydrogen cation is a proton. A single proton. I have never seen evidence that protons cause cancer.

If folate/folic acid somehow caused cancer, it would have to be the rest of the molecule that is the problem. But most research shows that folic acid/folate prevents cancer. It is well-known that persons eating plant-based diets have a significantly lower risk of cancer. In addition to providing nutrients, eating more vegetation means more fiber and less constipation, valuable for preventing colon cancer. Herbivorous animals are definitely not constipated. Ask any dairy farmer, and you can start with me: many years ago, I used to milk 120 cows twice daily. When you walk behind Bossy, look out.

As for lung cancer, the research accusing folic acid also happens to show that 94% of the study subjects who developed lung cancer were either current or former smokers. Smoking causes cancer. Animals do not smoke. But they do eat a lot of foliage, either by grazing on greens or gorging on guts.

Both studies claiming that folic acid causes cancer were published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, which also contains a large amount of pharmaceutical advertising. JAMA is among the journals that peer-reviewed research has shown to be biased against vitamins due to vested interests. (3)

What is more likely: that a small group of scientists made an error or two, or that all of Nature did? On this one, I am backing the animals. 1.8 million species can't be all wrong.

The next time someone offers you a bottle of water, take a stand and say something clever like, “No thank you, I don’t believe in it.” This simple move will open up a conversation about the massive swindle that is bottled water … and possibly persuade one more person to give it up entirely.

Even beyond the issues of your health and the environment, bottled water represents a novel form of privatization, in which private corporations have succeeded, and quite successfully I might add, at making water a commodity.

I would say, and I suspect you would agree, that water is more a “right” than it is a commodity. And private corporations should have no more control over the selling of water than they do the selling of our air supplies. Well, this is already occurring to some extent as corporations make a profit selling water -- which at times even makes water less available to the people living in the area.

Even public water supplies are being increasingly taken over by private corporations, and in some areas of the world are up for grabs by the highest bidder.

This has been publicized in countries such as Bolivia, where residents battled police and the military to protect their water rights from the US-based Bechtel Corporation, but you should know water privatization initiatives are being pushed all over the world … including in the United States.

If you’re interested in learning more, an excellent, eye-opening film on this topic that I highly recommend is Thirst.

Getting back to bottled water, however, many, many Americans still drink it, believing it is somehow healthier than tap water.

In 2008, U.S. bottled water consumption reached nearly 9 billion gallons, raking in revenues of more than $11 billion.

Folks, this is for a “product” you can get virtually for free by turning on your kitchen tap!

Are You Paying 1,900 Times More for Unhealthy, Earth-Damaging Water?

If you drink bottled water, yes, you are!

Bottled water typically costs more than $1.50 per bottle, which is 1,900 times the price of tap water.

Yet, that very same bottled water that you’re paying a premium for is, in about 40 percent of cases, simply bottled tap water, which may or may not have received any additional treatment.

On top of that, most municipal tap water must actually adhere to more strict purity standards than the bottled water industry. Further, while the EPA requires large public water supplies to test for contaminants as often as several times a day, the FDA requires private bottlers to test for contaminants only once a week, once a year, or once every four years, depending on the contaminant.

An independent test performed by the Environmental Working Group revealed 38 low-level contaminants in bottled water, with each of the 10 tested brands containing an average of eight chemicals including disinfection byproducts (DBPs), caffeine, Tylenol, nitrate, industrial chemicals, arsenic, and bacteria were all detected.

So what you are paying for is often no different, or even worse, than the water that comes out of your faucet.

When you factor in other elements, like the chemicals that can leach from the plastic bottle and its impact on the environment, bottled water becomes a losing proposition no matter how you look at it.

Drinking From Plastic Bottles is Not a Wise Health Move

When drinking bottled water you need to think not only about the water but also about the bottle itself. Plastic is not an inert substance as its manufacturers would like you to believe. It contains chemicals like BPA and phthalates, which mimic hormones in your body.

Even tiny concentrations can cause problems such as:

Structural damage to your brain
Hyperactivity, increased aggressiveness, and impaired learning
Increased fat formation and risk of obesity
Altered immune function

Early puberty, stimulation of mammary gland development, disrupted reproductive cycles, and ovarian dysfunction
Changes in gender-specific behavior, and abnormal sexual behavior
Stimulation of prostate cancer cells
Increased prostate size, and decreased sperm production

Anytime you drink from a plastic bottle you risk exposure, but if you leave your bottle of water in a hot car or reuse it, your exposure is magnified because heat and stress increase the amount of chemicals that leach out of the plastic.

Plastic is Hurting the Earth in a Major Way

About 1.5 million tons of plastic are used to manufacture water bottles each year around the world, and the processing itself releases toxic compounds like nickel, ethylbenzene, ethylene oxide and benzene. Further, according to the Sierra Club, the U.S. alone uses 1.5 million barrels of oil to make plastic water bottles, the majority of which then end up in landfills.

In fact, 1,500 water bottles are thrown away every second!

This massive waste is one reason why there is now a plastic “stew” twice the size of Texas swirling through the Pacific Ocean.

Also extremely harmful to the environment is the way corporations are pumping water from underground aquifers. These natural springs serve as water sources for nearby streams, wells and farms, but the aggressive pumping can easily dry them out prematurely.

A Simple Solution is at Your Disposal

One you realize that many sources of bottled water is:

No safer than tap water
Extremely expensive
Often contaminated by plastics chemicals
Contributing to massive environmental harm

… the choice to stop using it becomes simple. Fortunately, the alternative to having pure water is also simple: filter your own at home.

Unfiltered Tap Water is NOT Better than Bottled Water!!

My favorite filter is a reverse/osmosis filter as it will remove virtually all of the pollutants, such as disinfection by products, fluoride, arsenic, lead, drugs in the water supply, rocket fuel, bacteria, viruses, you name, it removes it. Unfortunately the down side is that it also removes minerals that should be in there. Fortunately the solution is quite simply. Add some high quality salt, like Himalayan salt, about 1/4 teaspoon for gallon.

I currently use a R/O system that is not yet commercially available. It is a tankless system in which I fill a glass container directly that is easy to clean. This eliminates the stagnant water in the holding tank and inevitable mold/slime contamination with using a R/O system with a holding tank. We hope to bring this to system to market in the next year.

Additionally the filtering process damages the structure of the water. A simple way to restructure the water would be to create a vortex. You can do this by putting a large spoon in the container and swirling it around very fast for awhile. This will clearly start to restructure the water. Getting the water cold, down to about 4 degrees Centigrade or 39 degrees Fahrenheit will also work. The best way to do that would be to store your bottle outdoors in the winter (when it doesn't go below 39 F) or put the bottle on your cement garage floor at night and the earth will remove much of the heat from the bottle. Store the water in a cool area.

You could cool the water in a refrigerator but that would impart negative EMF into the water so it is less than ideal. Similarly there are vortex machines you can purchase for about $500 but they will also impart these EMFs into the water.

This enables you to rely on your own well or municipal source for safe, clean water. If you need to take some with you on the road, store it in a glass jar or bottle.

What is the BEST Water in the World?

There is no question in my mind that the absolute finest source of water in the world is NOT from an artesian well but from a gravity fed mountain spring that is obtained directly from where it has come out of the earth. It is filtered by the earth and structured and it is also not pasteurized or heated like nearly all commercial bottled waters. You see there are living organisms in water like algae that are actually beneficial for us but when you heat the water, just like pasteurizing milk, you damage it.

So you are probably wondering the best way to find a gravity fed raw spring.

Well fortunately there is a web site called Find a Spring.com which allows you to do so. The website also allows you to add a spring that is not currently in the database. You can include information about the spring's temperature and location, and insert pictures or videos you took of the spring. Relax if you don't live near a mountain though as just about any spring is better than all other available options. So if you are at sea level just use that local spring. Typically they are monitored by the local municipalities for contaminants.

It is an awesome resource and I strongly encourage you, your family and your friends to use it. Please pass this gem along. There is a strong likelihood there is a spring within one hour of your home. Most of these springs are FREE, that is right, the best water in the world and there is NO CHARGE for it. You can easily store ten five gallon jugs in most cars and it is a wonderful opportunity for you to regularly escape from the city get out in nature.

If you don't have the large water bottles you can easily find them online. Glass would be best but if you use those, it would be better to get the three gallon jars as the five gallon ones are too large and can easily break and you can hurt yourself. You can also find corks to stop the bottles at most hardware stores. Just bring the bottle in with you so it fits properly.

If you do choose glass just make sure you wrap the bottles in your car with some blankets or towels so they don't bang against each other and break.

In my mind getting fresh raw spring water is one of the more powerful, inexpensive and phenomenal lifestyle adjustments you can make and I would strongly encourage you to try it.

As Canadian and European trade negotiators finish a third round of closed door meetings, the Canadian government is still keeping us in the dark about what’s at stake in the Canada-EU Comprehensive Economic Trade Agreement (CETA) talks, which are aimed at getting a deal signed by 2011.

The newly formed Trade Justice Network, of which the Council of Canadians is a founding member, released leaked draft text of the proposed deal on April 19. The Trade Justice Network is raising serious concerns about the agreement’s potential impact on public and environmental policy, culture, farmers and public services in both Canada and Europe and demanding that the government cease talks until it commits to transparency in the negotiations. “The Harper government’s NAFTA-plus experiment with Europe is embarrassingly short-sighted in a world crying out for new answers to the social, economic and climate crises of our time,” said Stuart Trew, trade campaigner with the Council of Canadians. “Unfortunately, the text we’re releasing proves this deal is just another attempt to deregulate and privatize on both sides of the Atlantic.”

The CETA has been called the most significant bilateral trade negotiation since NAFTA and the first to involve the provinces in negotiations. Controversial provisions would open Canada’s telecommunications sector to full foreign ownership, stop municipal governments from implementing local or ethical procurement strategies, and removes measures designed to protect countries and consumers from the kinds of banking crashes we saw globally in 2008. The text also presents a direct attack on Ontario’s Green Energy Act, and it would virtually eliminate the rights of farmers to save, reuse and sell seed, providing biotech, pharmaceutical, pesticide, seed and grain companies powerful new tools to essentially decide who should farm and how.

While researching the mysterious death of Dr. Mary Sherman, Haslam discovered that polio vaccines created in the 1950's had been tainted with a cancer-causing virus. This contamination, he said, was detected after half of the doses, a staggering 100 million vaccines, had been administered to an unwitting public. Allegedly, the creators of the vaccine were afraid to admit the error and subsequently distributed the remaining half of the "medicine" as well. Having studied data on cancer diagnoses, Haslam noted that a "massive epidemic" of soft tissue cancers "erupts in the years following the polio vaccines." Making matters worse, he said, the cancer-causing virus could be transmitted sexually and has even appeared in grandchildren of people who received the compromised vaccine.

Realizing their grave mistake, Haslam said, those "in the know" about the widespread inoculation tried to develop a vaccine against it by mutating the virus using a particle accelerator. According to his research, it was during this process that they discovered that the radiation caused the virus to become even more aggressive. It was at that point, Haslam said, the project shifted over to weaponizing the cancer-causing virus. Eventually, the weaponized virus was so powerful that it would kill a human in 28 days. He claimed that this number was derived from a clandestine test of the virus on inmates from a Louisiana prison. The end result was a potent weapon that was virtually untraceable.

Making the story even more bizarre, many of the players in the cancer-causing virus story have connections to the JFK assassination. For instance, one of the researchers in the weaponization project had Lee Harvey Oswald as her bodyguard and handler. Additionally, one of the bases of operation for these studies was the home of longtime Kennedy assassination suspect David Ferrie. And, bringing the tale back to where it all started, on the very day that the Warren Commission began their investigation of the JFK assassination, Dr. Mary Sherman was murdered.

A renowned US Medical organization ( American Academy of Environmental Medicine) called on doctors to prescribe non-GMO diets for all patients. Consumers are seeking non-GMO brands, and the fastest growing claim among store brands in 2009 was “GMO-Free” (Neilson Survey). The trade journal Supermarket News predicts GMO concerns will erupt this year, specifically because consumers are now given choices by the new Non-GMO Shopping Guide website and the Non-GMO Project’s third-party verified standard for making non-GMO claims.

Most Americans (53%) say they would avoid GMOs if they were labeled. But even 5% would likely be enough to create a tipping point of consumer rejection, forcing all GM ingredients out of our food supply.

We can see the tipping point just over the horizon, but it is now threatened by the US position at Codex.

Tell our government leaders that you will not stand for this outrageous obstruction of our democracy and human rights. Demand that the U.S. support the right for countries everywhere to label GMOs. We urge you to change the proposed U.S. position on labeling foods with genetically modified (GM) ingredients, being circulated in advance of the May 3-7, 2010 meeting of the Codex Committee on Food Labeling in Quebec .

It is anti-democratic, anti-consumer, anti-business, unscientific, and contradicts FDA and USDA domestic labeling policy. It also interferes with my right to choose food made without genetically modified organisms (GMOs).

Although an existing Codex document states that countries can adopt different approaches to labeling of GM foods, the US position crafted by the FDA and the USDA challenges that. It states that Codex should not “suggest or imply that GM/GE foods are in any way different from other foods,” and that mandatory labeling of food as GM “is likely to create the impression that the labeled food is in some way different” and would therefore be “false, misleading or deceptive.”

If this were established as a new Codex precedent, it would allow the U.S. to file WTO challenges against countries with mandatory labeling and make it difficult to label food as non-GMO within the U.S. Both are unacceptable.

Americans want mandatory labeling of GMOs—9 out of 10 of us!

President Obama, while campaigning in Iowa , pledged that he would require mandatory labeling of GMOs.

While we wait (impatiently) for that pledge to be fulfilled, food companies are meeting the demands of consumers by voluntarily labeling products as Non-GMO. In fact, this was the fastest growing product claim for store brands in 2009 (Neilson Survey). In addition, thousands of products were recently enrolled in the Non-GMO Project, a 3rd party verification program with a uniform, consensus-based definition of non-GMO.

GMOs ARE different, and unsafe!

The U.S. position that GMOs are not different was derived from official FDA policy (1992). Although it boldly claimed that the agency was unaware of any information showing that GMOs were different in any meaningful or uniform way, this has been exposed as a lie. Thousands of secret FDA documents were made public by a 1998 lawsuit, revealing that the actual overwhelming consensus among agency scientists was that “the processes of genetic engineering and traditional breeding are different, and according to the technical experts in the agency, they lead to different risks.” The various departments outlined those risks, including allergies, toxins, new antibiotic resistant diseases, and nutritional problems. They had repeatedly urged their superiors to require comprehensive safety studies, including human trials, before any GMO was released to the public.

But the 1991 White House had instructed the FDA to promote GMOs, and the political appointees in charge ignored and even denied the science and the scientists. They allow GMOs on the market without any required tests or labels.

Now, 18 years later, evidence validates the FDA scientists’ concerns. Based on animal feeding study results, the American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) states, “There is more than a casual association between GM foods and adverse health effects. There is causation…” They cite disorders such as infertility, immune problems, accelerated aging, faulty insulin regulation, and organ damage and gastrointestinal problems. The AAEM urged all doctors to prescribe non-GMO diets for everyone. They also called upon the government to impose an immediate moratorium, and demanded mandatory labeling. They are just one of numerous organizations and experts worldwide that draw the same conclusions.

We demand that you withdraw the unjustified position of the U.S. , which:

Obstructs the rights and desires of consumers;

Blocks the publicly stated intention of the President of the United States ;

Contradicts existing U.S. policies, which allow voluntary labeling of GMOs;

Interferes with an industry-wide collaborative effort of retailers, manufacturers, distributors, processors, and farmers, for providing verified non-GMO products;

Ignores the overwhelming evidence showing that GMOs are unsafe;

Disregards the advice of medical professionals; and

Puts people everywhere at risk.

If you are still unconvinced that GMOs are different, ask the animals. Eyewitness reports on four continents show that when given a choice, numerous species avoid genetically modified feed. These include pigs, cows, geese, elk, deer, raccoons, mice, rats, squirrels, chickens, and buffalo. We humans don’t have that sense. We need labels.

Medically speaking oncologists use weapons of mass cellular destruction to treat cancer. They use tests and treatments that cause cancer to treat cancer. (CBS) At a warehouse in New Jersey, 6,000 used copy machines sit ready to be sold. CBS News chief investigative correspondent Armen Keteyian reports almost every one of them holds a secret.

Nearly every digital copier built since 2002 contains a hard drive - like the one on your personal computer - storing an image of every document copied, scanned, or emailed by the machine.

In the process, it's turned an office staple into a digital time-bomb packed with highly-personal or sensitive data.

If you're in the identity theft business it seems this would be a pot of gold.

"The type of information we see on these machines with the social security numbers, birth certificates, bank records, income tax forms," John Juntunen said, "that information would be very valuable."

Buffalo Reacts to CBS News Investigation

Juntunen's Sacramento-based company Digital Copier Security developed software called "INFOSWEEP" that can scrub all the data on hard drives. He's been trying to warn people about the potential risk - with no luck.

"Nobody wants to step up and say, 'we see the problem, and we need to solve it,'" Juntunen said.

This past February, CBS News went with Juntunen to a warehouse in New Jersey, one of 25 across the country, to see how hard it would be to buy a used copier loaded with documents. It turns out ... it's pretty easy.

Juntunen picked four machines based on price and the number of pages printed. In less than two hours his selections were packed and loaded onto a truck. The cost? About $300 each.

Until we unpacked and plugged them in, we had no idea where the copiers came from or what we'd find.

We didn't even have to wait for the first one to warm up. One of the copiers had documents still on the copier glass, from the Buffalo, N.Y., Police Sex Crimes Division.

It took Juntunen just 30 minutes to pull the hard drives out of the copiers. Then, using a forensic software program available for free on the Internet, he ran a scan - downloading tens of thousands of documents in less than 12 hours.

The results were stunning: from the sex crimes unit there were detailed domestic violence complaints and a list of wanted sex offenders. On a second machine from the Buffalo Police Narcotics Unit we found a list of targets in a major drug raid.

The third machine, from a New York construction company, spit out design plans for a building near Ground Zero in Manhattan; 95 pages of pay stubs with names, addresses and social security numbers; and $40,000 in copied checks.

But it wasn't until hitting "print" on the fourth machine - from Affinity Health Plan, a New York insurance company, that we obtained the most disturbing documents: 300 pages of individual medical records. They included everything from drug prescriptions, to blood test results, to a cancer diagnosis. A potentially serious breach of federal privacy law.

"You're talking about potentially ruining someone's life," said Ira Winkler. "Where they could suffer serious social repercussions."

Winkler is a former analyst for the National Security Agency and a leading expert on digital security.

"You have to take some basic responsibility and know that these copiers are actually computers that need to be cleaned up," Winkler said.

The Buffalo Police Department and the New York construction company declined comment on our story. As for Affinity Health Plan, they issued a statement that said, in part, "we are taking the necessary steps to ensure that none of our customers' personal information remains on other previously leased copiers, and that no personal information will be released inadvertently in the future."

Ed McLaughlin is President of Sharp Imaging, the digital copier company.

"Has the industry failed, in your mind, to inform the general public of the potential risks involved with a copier?" Keteyian asked.

"Yes, in general, the industry has failed," McLaughlin said.

In 2008, Sharp commissioned a survey on copier security that found 60 percent of Americans "don't know" that copiers store images on a hard drive. Sharp tried to warn consumers about the simple act of copying.

"It's falling on deaf ears," McLaughlin said. "Or people don't feel it's important, or 'we'll take care of it later.'"

You're welcome. The same Japanese randomized controlled trial just published that
showed vitamin D prevent influenza A, also showed that the placebo group was six
times more likely to get an asthma attack then the vitamin D group and that was
with only 1,200 IU per day in ten-year-olds.
There is a growing literature suggesting that vitamin D may not just help asthma,
but may cure it.
In my experience, how long it takes to help asthma depends on how long you have had asthma. Adults with asthma should take 10,000 IU per day and shoot for a 25(OH)D
of around 100 ng/ml. Children with asthma should take at least 2,000 IU for every
25 pounds of body weight, also shooting for a 25(OH)D of around 100 ng/ml. Like
depression, asthma is a disease with a serious morbidity and mortality, thus more
aggressive dosing is indicated.
After the asthma disappears, slowly reduce your asthma meds under the supervision
of your doctor, then slowly reduce the dose of vitamin D to standard doses of 5,000
IU/day for adults, and 1,000 IU/day for every 25 pounds of body weight in children,
keeping 25(OH)D levels between 50 and 80 ng/ml.

n the 1960s, the prevalence of asthma and allergic diseases began to increase worldwide.
Currently, the burden of the disease is more than 300 million people affected.
We hypothesize that as populations grow more prosperous, more time is spent indoors,
and there is less exposure to sunlight, leading to decreased cutaneous vitamin D
production. Coupled with inadequate intake from foods and supplements, this then
leads to vitamin D deficiency, particularly in pregnant women, resulting in more
asthma and allergy in their offspring.

Quercetin, Stinging Nettle Leaf, Bromelain
Quercetin
The next time you browse through the produce department in your local supermarket,
take a closer look at some of those fruits and vegetables. They contain substances
called bioflavonoids. These flavonoids play a major role in the color and taste of many of the fruits and vegetables we eat, and they possess numerous medical benefits
as well.
Bioflavonoids have long been known to possess anti-allergic effects. As early as
the 1950s, studies showed that flavonoids could prevent the release of histamines
and inhibit anaphylaxis.(Clark W, Mackay E. Effect of flavonoid substances on histamine
toxicity, anaphylactic shock and histamine-enhanced capilary permeability to dye.
J Allergy 21: 133-47, 1950).
Quercetin, a natural flavonoid, its appearance: yellow needle like crystal has been
shown to block the initial histamine release from mast cells.
An allergic reaction is caused by a rapid release of histamine from mast cells (immune
cells) and starts the chain of events which eventually leads to the familiar symptoms
of allergy: nasal discharge, stinging and watery eyes, itching, and hives.
There are numerous medications available, both by prescription and over the counter,
to give relief to the allergy sufferer. However, most, if not all, produce unpleasant
side effects such as dry mouth, nausea, and drowsiness. These medications work by
blocking the histamine receptors on other cells, not by blocking the initial release
of the histamine itself.
Stinging Nettle Leaf
The stinging nettle, Urtica dioica, is found across Asia, Europe and North America.
Stinging nettle has long been used as a medicinal herb with diuretic and anti-inflammatory
properties.
Stinging nettle reduces levels of inflammatory chemicals in the body and interferes
with pain signals sent from the brain, reducing pain levels. It also contains antihistamines.

Bromelain
Bromelain has proven mucolytic properties. As such, bromelain supports normal mucosal
tissue function and enhances the absorption of quercetin.
The bromelains are a group of naturally occurring protein-digestive (proteolytic)
enzymes. They are found in the stem of the pineapple. Other components of the stem, including various enzymes and calcium, are also present in commercial bromelain
preparations. Besides being used as a protein digestive aid, the enzymes in bromelain
inhibit inflammatory chemicals called prostaglandins.
The anti-inflammatory effect has been studied for its effectiveness in inflammatory
conditions like arthritis and sinusitis.
In order to get substantial amounts of bromelain from pineapple you must eat the
fibrous stem, therefore it is much easier to use a supplement form.

Remember that we can change the production patterns by changing our shopping patterns. When we start to refuse to buy (boycott) unhealthy “factory farm” sourced foods, or genetically engineered foods, or irradiated foods, or pesticided and chemicalized foods, etc, - and when enough of us let the supermarkets know that we won’t buy these products – they will change! WE the consumers do have POWER. We just have to use it. As long as we are irresponsible enough to put convenience, expediency and “junk food preference” ahead of feeding our families with nutrition foods, we will have given away our ability to control the marketplace with the DEMAND side of the equation. Right now the SUPPLIERS are telling us that we have to take whatever THEY decide theya re going to allow us to buy.
We have to take back our “consumer power”.
We have to educate ourselves, and then we have to let them know in no uncertain terms that if they want us as customers, they will have to start giving us what we want to buy.

How much do we know about the food we buy at our local supermarkets and serve to our families? Though our food appears the same - a tomato still looks like a tomato - it has been radically transformed.

In the Oscar-nominated Food, Inc., producer-director Robert Kenner and investigative authors Eric Schlosser (Fast Food Nation) and Michael Pollan (The Omnivore's Dilemma) lift the veil on the U.S. food industry - an industry that has often put profit ahead of consumer health, the livelihoods of American farmers, the safety of workers and our own environment.

With the use of animation and compelling graphics, the filmmakers expose the highly mechanized, Orwellian underbelly that's been deliberately hidden from the American consumer.

They reveal how a handful of corporations control our nation's food supply. Though the companies try to maintain the myth that our food still comes from farms with red barns and white picket fences, our food is actually raised on massive "factory farms" and processed mega industrial plants. The animals grow fatter faster and are designed to fit the machines that slaughter them. Tomatoes are bred to be shipped without bruising and to stay edible for months. The system is highly productive, and Americans are spending less on food than ever before. But at what cost?

Cattle are given feed that their bodies are not biologically designed to digest, resulting in new strains of E. coli bacteria, which sickens roughly 73,000 Americans annually. And because of the high proliferation of processed foods derived from corn, Americans are facing epidemic levels of diabetes among adults and alarming increases in obesity, especially among children.

And, surprisingly, all of it is happening right under the noses of government regulatory agencies, the USDA and the FDA. The film exposes a "revolving door" of executives from giant food corporations in and out of Washington D.C. that has resulted in a lack of oversight and illuminates how this dysfunctional political system often operates at the expense of the American consumer. In the nation's heartland, farmers have been silenced - afraid to talk about what's happening to the nation's food supply for fear of retaliation and lawsuits from giant corporations.

Laws today are such that corporations are allowed to patent seeds for crops. As a result, Monsanto, the former chemical company that manufactured Agent Orange and DDT - in a span of 10 years - has landed its patented gene in 90% of the nation's soybean seeds. Farmers are now forbidden to save and reuse these seeds and must instead buy new seed from Monsanto each season. Armed with a team of employees dedicated to enforcing their seed patents, Monsanto spends millions every year to investigate, intimidate and sue farmers -- whom are financially unable to fight the corporation.

Food, Inc. also introduces us to courageous people who refuse to helplessly stand by and do nothing. Some, like Stonyfield Farm's Gary Hirshberg and Polyface Farm's Joel Salatin, are finding ways to work inside and outside the system to improve the quality of our food. Others are brave men and women who have chosen to speak out, such as chicken farmer Carole Morison, seed cleaner Moe Parr and food safety advocate Barbara Kowalcyk. Their stories, both heartbreaking and heroic, serve to demonstrate the level of humanity and commitment it takes to fight the corporations that control the food industry.

It's important to note that the filmmakers attempted to interview representatives from Monsanto, Tyson, Perdue and Smithfield, but they all declined.

Food, Inc. illustrates the dangers of a food system controlled by powerful criticize how our food is made. The film reveals how complicated and compromised the once simple process of growing crops and raising livestock to feed ourselves and our families has become. But, it also reminds us that despite what appears to be at times a hopeless situation, each of us still has the ability to vote on this issue every day - at breakfast, lunch and dinner.
